GenMec ACL is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team.
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for supervising all on-site construction activities and managing field personnel associated with the project. The individual will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all aspects of day-day construction operations at the site.
- Oversee and coordinate all subcontractors, trades, and own forces field personnel.
- Monitor project schedule and budget, making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
- Ensure quality and cost standards are met within assigned timeframes completed efficiently, and effectively.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with OHS safety guidelines and regulations and company policies.
- Communicate project status and updates to all stakeholders, including clients, architects, and senior management.
- Maintain continuous communication to the appropriate stakeholders throughout the project(s) related to progress, issues and solutions.
- Resolve construction problems and issues as they arise, ensuring all work complies with design and building regulations.
- Carry out regular inspections to assess work quality, safety and adherence to project specifications.
- Handle on-site logistics, materials, and equipment management.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project QA/QC documentation and daily logs.
- Ensure Procore is maintained and updated as per Company guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-10 years of experience as a Site Superintendent or Foreman working on medium complex commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience in concrete construction.
- Flexible and adaptable to rapid change.
- High degree of residential construction knowledge and building codes
- Strong hands-on manager with good decision making and problem solving skills
- Good communication skills. Position involves daily interaction with customers, outside agencies, subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel
- Computer skills (MS Office and Excel).
- Journeyperson Trade Certification in a related Construction trade will be considered an asset
- A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to perform a variety of tasks under multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes
- Solid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and project management
- Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget
- Capable of anticipating issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
- Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license
