Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Finance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Director of Operations, leadership, and the Management Team to ensure the financial sustainability of Kehewin Cree Nation. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all financial contractual agreements and reporting, ensuring they are maintained in a timely manner. Additionally, you will play a key role in transferring knowledge and skill sets to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance department, administration, and management team, as well as our programs and services. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capacity in:

The Finance Manager plays a critical role in the financial health and sustainability of Kehewin Cree Nation.
Education & Experience
Ø A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Commerce and/or a Certified Aboriginal Finance Manager (CAFM) designation is required.
Ø A master's degree in business administration (concentration in finance), or another master's level management program is an asset.
Ø Professional Accounting Designation: Certified Professional Accountant CPA - CA, CGA or CMA with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Ø Minimum of five to 10 (5-10) years post-designation accounting and financial experience including three to five (3-5) years at the senior financial management level including the leadership and management of employees.
Ø Preferred First Nation experience as a Senior finance professional.
Ø Experience in financial planning, financial budget development, audits, and managing complex and diverse financial reporting requirements.
Ø Experience working with FNDF and ISC is an asset.
Ø Experience with implementation of a financial framework and system preferred.
Ø Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting and payroll software and databases i.e. Sage 300, Norming Resource Management Portal.
Qualifications
Ø Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and a demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous people is a must.
Ø Have a clear Criminal Record Check.
Ø Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
Ø Maintain CPA designation in good standing.

Ø Knowledge of Kehewin Cree Nation culture and traditional territory with understanding of indigenous principles of Wakotowin and Wīcitasōwin.
Ø Demonstrated responsible decision-making and effective implementation of decisions.

Ø Demonstrated leadership and management skills with ethical Leadership expertise.
Ø Strong organizational skills, ability to maintain accuracy working with data and complex information.
Ø Time management with the ability to multitask different tasks simultaneously.
Ø Exceptional professionalism.
Ø Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships from the community level to senior government levels.
Ø Ability to build capacity in staff.
