SE Design has a career opportunity for a Geomatics Technologist in our Cold Lake, Alberta office.
Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience providing geomatics services for civil engineering works associated with subdivision and municipal projects.
Position Duties:
- Conduct various construction surveys, such as preliminary topographic surveys, record plan survey, utility staking, and road construction staking.
- Review and interpret plans and specifications for constructions projects.
- Take measurements and perform calculations for alignments, grades, quantities, and other related factors.
- Carry out quality assurance/control tasks for construction projects. Additionally handle general office responsibilities, data management, and survey administrative duties.
- Previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Microsurvey would be beneficial.
- Having prior experience in a legal surveying environment, including evidence assessment, field notes, and data collection is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized program in Geomatics Engineering Technologies, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of previous surveying experience at the Party Chief level is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 3D is essential.
- Proficient drafting skills, including the ability to work well in a team and interact with others.
- The capability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality work.
- A positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to various projects.
- A strong commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
- Valid driver’s license.
