SolidEarth Geotechnical Inc. has been providing exceptional geotechnical, environmental, and materials engineering consulting and testing services for over a decade. We are a trusted supplier of services to local, provincial, and federal governments, major oil and gas companies, civil consultants, and large contractors.

We are currently looking for a Junior Materials Testing Technician to join our team in our Cold Lake Location.

Key Responsibilities:

Working safely in accordance with company and project health and safety programs
Communicating effectively within a laboratory/field team environment
Calibrating, maintaining, and repairing testing equipment
Conducting field compaction testing of soils
Conducting field concrete testing as per CCIL/CSA requirements
Performing laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt
Communicating (verbally and in writing) results and observations to clients, contractors, and project engineers
Working on local and remote construction sites
Flexible schedule, with the ability to work overtime and/or weekends, as required

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of a related post-secondary program in Engineering Technology is preferred
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record based on a Three Year Driver’s Abstract, and must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol and Fitness screening as required for project access
Working level proficiency with spoken and written English language is required.

May require some work at night
