Dragonfly is hiring a full-time Virtual Public Educator to join their Prevention & Community Engagement Team.
Location: Remote (servicing areas in the DCSC Service Region including Cold Lake, Bonnyville, St. Paul, Smoky Lake, Slave Lake, Athabasca, Wabasca, Lac La Biche, Métis Settlements, and First Nations communities)

Organization Overview:
DCSC is a charity organization committed to creating a region free from sexual violence. We provide specialized intervention, counselling, and preventative education to individuals, families, and communities across North Central East Alberta.
Position Overview:
This position facilitates engaging, age-appropriate presentations and workshops for schools, community groups, and adult audiences, primarily through virtual platforms. The Virtual Public Educator promotes understanding, prevention, and community response to sexual violence through virtual outreach, collaboration, and participation in online public education events and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Support & Service Delivery:
- Provide direct educational support through virtual presentations and workshops tailored to children, youth, post-secondary students, and adult audiences.
- Facilitate learning on topics including sexual violence, consent, healthy relationships, personal safety, and mental wellness.
- Deliver programs using evidence-based approaches for violence prevention, relationship skills, and mental health awareness.
- Participate in virtual community outreach and online public education events to raise awareness of sexual violence and DCSC services.
- Respond to participant questions and concerns during sessions in a sensitive and supportive manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure educational content aligns with organizational policies and community needs.
Program Support & Development:
- Research, develop, and update virtual educational materials and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Assist the Education team with planning, organizing, and evaluating education programs.
- Support virtual program logistics including scheduling, technology setup, and material preparation.
- Contribute to fundraising initiatives and virtual community engagement strategies.
- Identify opportunities for program innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with schools and community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field; relevant experience will also be considered.
- Registration with a professional body (e.g., teaching certification, social work registration, counselling, or equivalent).
- Experience in education, public speaking, or working with children, youth, or community groups is an asset.
- Experience facilitating violence prevention, relationship, or mental health programming is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Creative, organized, and adaptable with experience developing and delivering dynamic educational programs virtually.
- Valid driver’s license for occasional travel within the service region.
- Comfortable presenting virtually to both large and small audiences.
