ABOUT THE POSITION
Portage College is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Infrastructure team at the Lac La Biche campus performing a wide range of critical duties that impact all areas of the College. Some of the responsibilities include:
· Conducting preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
· Responding to work orders and tracking progress of work requests.
· Completing general building maintenance.
· Moving, loading and unloading furniture, equipment and building materials.
· Maintaining clean and organized workshops and work areas.
· Performing grounds maintenance duties, including grass cutting, snow removal, and general debris cleanup.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum high school education required.
· Carpentry skills essential; Journeyman certification considered an asset.
· Experience in performing general building maintenance tasks.
· Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, with knowledge of related safety practices.
· Strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to operate equipment and diagnose minor equipment malfunctions.
· Physically capable of performing tasks involving heavy lifting.
· Basic computer skills considered an asset.
·Successful applicant will be required to provide a current police information check.
