We're Hiring — Field Technician / Equipment Operator | St. Paul, AB
On Track Contracting is looking for a skilled, reliable and adaptable equipment operator to join our team.
This is not a one-task job. You'll be expected to shift between equipment operation, technical installations, trucking, and shop work depending on the day. If you're the type who gets bored doing the same thing every day and can shift gears without missing a beat, this is the kind of work you'll enjoy.
What you'll be doing:
-Operating excavators, skid steers, mulching equipment, and other heavy equipment
-Hauling materials and towing equipment trailers with pickups or gravel truck
-Installing water & septic systems and pile foundations
-Installing and servicing well water treatment systems
-Snow removal in winter months
-Shop maintenance and minor mechanical work
What we're looking for:
-Minimum Class 5 license with a clean abstract — Class 3 or Class 1 strongly preferred
-A diverse skillset and the ability to adapt — no two days look the same
-Experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, skid steer)
-Gravel truck or tandem driving experience is an asset
-Experience with water/septic installation is a strong asset
-Strong attention to detail in everything you do
-Mechanically inclined
-Self-motivated, shows up on time, and takes great pride in their work
What you get:
-$30–$40/hr depending on qualifications and experience
-Overtime at 1.5x
-Full time permanent position
Start date: mid to late April 2026
Job sites typically within 100km of St. Paul.
Must reside within 30 mins of St. Paul.
