Timberwolf Environmental Services is seeking a Safety Advisor to join their team in Bonnyville! This role is a temporary contract position with potential for permanent employment for the right candidate. This role is focused on supporting the health and safety needs of their site personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. While this position will primarily involve office-based safety administration, there may be occasional field involvement depending on project needs.
Responsibilities:
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation, provincial and federal standards, and other applicable regulations to ensure site compliance
● Promote and encourage a culture of safe work practices across the organization, driving participation in corporate safety initiatives
● Monitor the effectiveness of the overall safety management system and recommend improvements as necessary
● Facilitate safety meetings and orientations for site personnel to ensure proper safety procedures are understood and followed
● Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure hazard controls are implemented, and verify the correct use of safety equipment
● Perform worksite inspections, job observations, document audits, and other safety reviews to monitor compliance and identify risks
● Assist in the administration of safety programs and ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date
Qualifications:
● NCSO Certification (National Construction Safety Officer)
● TDG trainer (TDG TTT) certification, Flagger Train-the-trainer (FLAG) certification an asset
● Standard First Aid / H2S Certification
● Valid Class 5 Driver's License
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365) and SiteDocs
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to listen and engage with team members at all levels
● Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a high standard of ethics in all aspects of the role
