ABOUT THE POSITION
Portage College is actively seeking a highly-motivated and engaged individual with experience to instruct in our Educational Assistant and Early Learning and Child Care program at the Lac La Biche campus. The successful instructor would be responsible for practicing excellence in teaching and learning. Some of the responsibilities include:
· Theory and practical instruction in the College’s Educational Assistant and Early Learning and Child Care program.
· Preparation and delivery of subjects in both lectures and practical labs.
· Assist with curriculum development and/or revision.
· Develop exams, quizzes and other evaluation material for students.
· Manage and evaluate student progress in the program.
· Assist with instruction and supervision of practicum placements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Master’s degree (preferably in Education)
· Background in special education and early childhood would be an asset.
· The ideal applicant will have a minimum of five years of experience in instructing adult learners.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Strong computer skills, especially with MS Office.
· Successful applicant will be required to provide a current police information check.
