SE Design has a career opportunity for a Geomatics Technologist in our Cold Lake, Alberta office.
Position Description:
•We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience providing geomatics services for civil engineering works associated with subdivision and municipal projects.
Position Duties:
•Conduct drafting and calculations for construction surveys, such as preliminary topographic surveys, record plan survey, utility staking, and road construction staking.
•Conduct pile and construction grid line layout.
•Review and interpret plans and specifications for construction and legal survey projects.
•Carry out quality assurance/control tasks for construction projects. Handle general office responsibilities, data management, and survey drafting duties.
•Previous experience with Trimble Business Center, Microsurvey and Civil 3D would be beneficial.
•Having prior experience in a legal surveying environment, including evidence assessment, field notes, and data collection is advantageous.
Qualifications:
•Graduation from a recognized program in Geomatics Engineering Technologies, or a related field is required.
•A minimum of 5-10 years of previous surveying experience at the Party Chief level is required.
•Proficiency in drafting and use in Microsoft Office is essential.
•Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations.
•Experience with municipal land surveying products and services is essential.
•The capability to work independently as well as in a team and consistently deliver high-quality work.
•A positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to various projects.
•A strong commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
•Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a minimum of 4 years verified Canadian driving experience.
