The Warco Quality Control manager directs and has the overall responsibility to ensure that the processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained throughout the company.
Qualifications:
- Certified CWB Level II Welding Inspector and/or certified API 510 Inspector.
- Technically competent in the application of applicable codes, standards, and provincial/federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Program Development
- Develop and approve objectives, policies and programs for corporate quality control activities.
- Develop quality control plans or process control features that will ensure compliance with client specifications, regulations, code requirements, and the Warco quality management system.
- Direct the continuing review of the quality management program and the formulation of new or revised procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all company personnel understand the company quality management program and are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
2. Coordinate Field and Shop Activities
- Creating inspection and test plans, hydrotest packages, and repair/alteration procedures.
- Material receiving and review of mill test reports.
- Pre-planning activities such as assigning applicable WPS, work packages, ITPs, etc.
- Managing and implementing the site Quality Plan, project specific procedural documents, ITPs, and other construction related documents.
- Preparing and managing NCRs relating to construction deficiencies or anomalies.
- Assembly and acceptance of associated quality records for addition to the turnover package.
- Technical understanding of ASME VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME IX and the ABSA jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinating and overseeing all required inspection and testing requirements, including the timing and arranging of inspections with external NDE contractors.
- Project and process quality control monitoring.
- Verifying that all deficiencies have been corrected.
- Verifying that all pressure tests have been completed.
- Ensuring effective communication with team members to obtain information about quality issues.
- Management of records and completion of turnover packages.
- Acting as liaison with the Owner’s Inspector and Safety Codes Officer
3. Technical Assistance
- Provide technical assistance to purchasing with respect to the purchase of code related materials.
- Assist with estimating by providing quality requirements and associated costs.
- Provide technical information to Business Development staff to ensure the scope of the Company’s quality program is properly communicated to new and existing clients.
4. Records Management
- Issue and maintain control of the QMS manual.
- Review all quality documentation to ensure job files are complete and accurate.
- Ensure quality documentation is forwarded to the client or client’s representative as required.
- Ensure quality records are maintained and stored as required by company policy and legislation.
- Coordinate the purchase of applicable code books and reference materials and ensure all documentation is kept current.
5. Communication with Regulatory Authorities
- Ensure regulatory approval is obtained when required.
- Ensure all applicable documentation is forwarded to regulatory authorities.
- Maintain ABSA / TSASK correspondence files.
