Field Operator (Conventional Oil & Gas)
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Field Operator to manage day-to-day operations in a conventional field located in the Bonnyville region. This is a contract-based position operating on a stable 8/6 rotation with 10-hour shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of well sites and production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of well sites and facilities to ensure production is optimized and equipment is functioning correctly.
- Identify and resolve mechanical, process, and instrumentation issues; perform minor maintenance and adjustments as required.
- Record accurate field data, including pressures, temperatures, and flow rates; maintain logs and submit reports as per client requirements.
- Conduct all tasks in accordance with safety regulations (AER, OH&S); perform Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and participate in safety meetings.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party service providers (e.g., pressure trucks, flush-by, fluid haulers) during field maintenance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional upkeep of all lease sites and facility areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract (required).
- Valid H2S Alive, First Aid, & CSO required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening.
- Previous experience in oil and gas field operations is considered a strong asset, though candidates with high mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with the Lakeland Region, LSDs and mapping systems is highly beneficial.
- Must be able to work the 8/6 rotation, 10-hour days.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform manual tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, reaching, etc.
